What is Beauty?

Is beauty only skin deep or is it on the surface? I read today in the NY Times about how European designers are at a loss with those women who have had breast augmentation because the silhouette is made for a tall, slender and small breasted woman. Evidently, women in Los Angeles and Texas where breast enlargement runs the gamut to a 34F are finding it difficult to fit into the tiny Prada or Max Mara outfit because their breasts do not allow for it..so instead of buying a size 6 they have to get a size 12. One must consider this factor if they plan to embark on the big breast for all syndrome that has suddenly come back into vogue. Remember all those leaky breast stories, well, those are an element of the past. So beware if you are considering a surgical procedure. You will have to buy a whole new wardrobe after shelling out thousands of dollars for the new ones!

It's just the thing that we do....make it hard for you..to see us! Posted by Hello

IT WAS ALL YELLOW

By now it is is old news that Coldplay landed here for one night at The Fillmore. What matters....people are still talking about it. I can say from first-hand experience that driving past there last evening, the line stretched all the way around the block and past the McDonald's despite the heavy rain. People were begging and just hanging around hoping that they could talk their way in..but to no avail.....
Meanwhile, the rest of us here in SF were COMPLETELY unable to get a ticket, even if you spent the preceding Sunday dialing and dialing at 10:00 am to try Ticketmaster...Yet some 1200 lucky individuals found themselves there...all of us leaning on a hope that they would play an additional night---but NO. They are a dizzying foursome who spill out and eke out so much sound amongst them that it takes days to recover one of their shows. Their new work, entitled X&Y, available in early June is greatly anticipated since "Rush of Blood to the Head" in 2002. What took them so long? Another UK-based band from Dublin, Keane will play on Friday night at the Berkeley Community Theater. Their music is even more melancholic and "Everybody's Changing", the title song that put them on the map filled in the gap that was left vacant by Coldplay since 2002. More on that show later. www.keanemusic.com

Where would "millions" lead you? Posted by Hello

Epitah for a Sunday

Will millions of dollars bring you all the happiness in the world? Here in San Francisco where the world's largest Maserati dealership is opening in Redwood City, one may think that it is so.
At $100,000 for an entry level car, the new shop is overwhelmed with orders and interest. While so many scrape by to make rent or just buy their "organic" groceries at Whole Foods or well..Whole Foods because that is what is expected and coveted, Maserati research demonstrated that the wealth per capita surrounding the area was more concentrated here than any other place on the planet! Whoa!
I recently saw that English kids movie, "Millions" again for the second time. Extremely good if you want to have a "think" about what would it be like to have a sack full of money fall from the heavens on your cardboard box. Young Damien, who has just moved house and is trying to cope, has a preoccupation with saints, and a cheeky manner of letting those around him suffer his hilarity for it. The film is top notch and I was particulalry moved both times by his revelation that his dad is not a "believer" ...that he cannot see. It made me ponder the thought more closely because of a recent experience at the Armani Cafe where I found myself last Saturday. It was there that I chatted up a couple I've seen there a few times.....They have the look of an LA couple in the movie or music business. What stands out about them each time that they are there is watching as they dropped about $3,000 on clothing even if it doesn't look good on them. I sat there at the bar sipping a glass of wine and waiting for my mate whilst he bought a $1,000 suit. It looked really good on him though...meanwhile, I haven't the money in my account to buy a pair of socks at Armani never mind an outfit. I wonder Can non-believers be genuine? Why is wealth our alter for change?Having no money is a humbling experience.
